Thanks for all the support over the past few years. Today I’ve decided to close the doors of my blog. It doesn’t mean I’ll stop telling my story. I”ve been posting religiously every day since December of 2011. That’s a lot of posting. It’s been my daily journal of my triumphant return to cycling after a long hiatus. It’s helped me keep track of my rides, training as well as serve as an inspiration for cycling in general.
I love to share my adventures with y’all! I plan on posting to my Google+ page for the most part, and I hope to stay in touch. Google+ offers community pages that give my stories instant viewership and reach. Photos and albums are another great reason why I’m making the switch. Shoot me a note and I’ll add you to my Spinning Around in Circles Google+ Circle.
Thanks again, and hope to see you out on the trails and roads ahead.

Oh shit, I shouldn’t have touched the brakes on my Epic. I needed to bleed them desperately, and I don’t have the proper tools to do so. Tomorrow I’m racing at Toro Park, and it looks like I’ll be slinging my leg over my trail bike, ‘Baby’, a Stumpjumper FSR Evo. Not the worst thing in the world given the bike can totally shred downhill. It’s the long uphill grind I’m worried about. Here goes nothing.
Last night’s ride with running shoes did a number on my quads. Having to push that hard, foot curled and cramping, struggling to stay on really scorched my legs. Walking around the office is fine, but I knew if I were to get on a bike I’d have absolutely nothing, hence the day off.
I put in a really great effort on our Friday Worlds lunch ride. Great in that I was able to rotate through the pace line for most of the race. I could have gone through, but I was hoping to save a little in the tank for the long uphill sprint finish. It didn’t matter so much, as I was the first to chase off the line heading into the final stretch. I should have waited a bit longer and drafted off the back. Regardless it was a great way to whip my race legs into shape for Sunday.
Ah, the joys of the burbs. We moved to San Mateo not too long ago, into a nice condo with a large wrap around patio, grill included. We hosted a nice early dinner, and I made some rather tasty burgers, corn and potatoes among other great things. The perfect way to relax and load up on food.
I miss it and don’t miss it.
Who needs to win the coveted lunch ride jersey when you can have some fine BBQ instead? I opted to indulge in a rare lunch time outing with my team. It was worth every bit of sauce and meat piled between a bun. Who knew Morgan Hill had some fine BBQ offerings? Trail Dust BBQ is where it’s at. Nap time.
Our creative director, Robert Egger, rolls with some serious style. This is a custom car he built, one of the many awesome things he builds himself.
A year ago today I started my first day at my dream job at Specialized. It’s been one hell of a ride so far. Feels like I’ve been here a few years already. So grateful to be working here. Such a great company, filled with passionate and talented people.
Welcome to the updated look of Spinning Around in Circles. I started this blog a few years ago as a way to keep track of my training. I didn’t know how long I’d be able to keep up with it, but I’ve sort of fallen into a daily habit. Enjoy the new layout as it’s completely responsive and up to snuff in terms of web standards.
Today I’m feeling pretty wrecked after my mediocre Boggs campaign. Gotta rest up before I ramp up in training again. I think my next event is this weekend, but it’s a Gran Fondo down in Morgan Hill. After that my next MTB race will be a CCCX, followed by Tamarancho.
