12k of Climbing
On a last-minute whim I joined my friend Jeremy on an epic adventure around Skeggs, over to Purisima and back for even more Skeggs. In five and half hours we covered 50 miles and climbed 12,000'! Quite possibly one of the biggest rides I've ever done, next to Leadville. Jeremy was on fire from the start, but having had a tiring week of work I didn't have the legs to match. I hung in there, but eventually cracked, bonking in the last 10 miles or so.
The weather was absolutely perfect and course conditions were near perfect. I rode my Epic, which saw a flat early on, but beyond that it was a solid performer. I'm now wrecked and on the verge of calling it a day to my weekend of riding. Tomorrow I've got Demo lined up, so hopefully I'll feel better in the morning and that the group rides at a sensible pace.
